PARIS, June 7 — US Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth warned yesterday that Europe was facing what he described as an “invasion” of dangerous ideologies arriving by sea, drawing a link between immigration and the legacy of the D-Day landings during remarks in Normandy.
SYDNEY, May 17 — A Qantas flight from Melbourne to Dallas was forced to divert after a passenger became disruptive onboard, with local media reporting that he bit a cabin crew member.
The aircraft was en route to the United States on Friday when it made an unscheduled stop in Papeete due to the incident.
The passenger was restrained by fellow travellers and met by authorities upon landing. He has since been banned from flying with Qantas.
The airline said it maintains a zero-tolerance policy on disruptive behaviour, stressing that the safety of passengers and crew remains its top priority. — AFP
