PARIS, June 7 — US Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth warned yesterday that Europe was facing what he described as an “invasion” of dangerous ideologies arriving by sea, drawing a link between immigration and the legacy of the D-Day landings during remarks in Normandy.
IPOH, June 7 — Hiker Jaslinda Saludin, 49, who was found safe after going missing for 14 days during a trek at Gunung Batu Putih near Tapah, recounted how she survived in the forest without carrying any food or water.
She described how she sourced water from natural supplies in the jungle, including from pitcher plants, to sustain herself throughout the two-week ordeal.
“I had no food, I didn’t eat for two weeks. I drank water… dark water, brown water, water from pitcher plants. So let’s all be grateful to be alive,” she said in a 32-second video shared on social media.
Jaslinda was discovered by Orang Asli villager Nazri a/l Bah Eng near Kampung Lubuk Gaharu, Pos Musoh, Tapah, at about 5 pm before being taken to Tapah Hospital for treatment.
She also shared how she repeatedly fell and struggled each day to survive in the forest after going missing on May 24. — Bernama
