KUALA LUMPUR, April 6 — AirAsia flight AK139 from Hong Kong to Kuala Lumpur encountered a technical issue yesterday, leading to abnormal cabin pressure.

According to Free Malaysia Today (FMT), the airline reported that oxygen masks were automatically deployed as a precaution, with the cabin crew handling the situation in accordance with safety procedures.

“Safety was never compromised at any point,” AirAsia said in a statement, confirming that the aircraft landed safely at KLIA Terminal 2 at 4.05pm.

The airline added that a thorough engineering inspection identified and resolved the technical issue, and the aircraft is scheduled to return to service today in full compliance with safety standards.

AirAsia expressed its appreciation to passengers for their cooperation and reaffirmed that passenger safety remains its highest priority.

This incident is the second mid-flight issue involving an AirAsia flight within just over a week, FMT noted.

On March 27, flight AK128 bound for Shenzhen returned to KLIA2 as a precaution due to a technical problem with one of its engines.
