SEPANG, March 12 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has directed the Education Ministry and MARA to ensure at least 70% of boarding school students pursue science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) subjects, starting this year.

SEPANG, March 12 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has directed the Education Ministry and MARA to ensure at least 70% of boarding school students pursue science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) subjects, starting this year.

Speaking at an Iftar event with government-linked companies (GLCs), he stressed the need to align education with industry demands, citing companies like Infineon Technologies and Google.

Anwar also urged GLCs to adopt and upgrade at least 200 underprivileged schools, particularly in remote areas, with improved facilities such as toilets.

On racial tensions, he warned of strict action against those inciting racial sentiments, emphasizing unity and stability.
