WASHINGTON, June 6 — US President Donald Trump said Friday he wants his incoming acting spy chief to begin cutting staff, further fuelling controversy over the appointment of a man with no prior intelligence experience.
PUTRAJAYA, June 6 — The government has approved an allocation of up to RM50 million from the High Impact Programme Fund under the Skills Development Fund Corporation (PTPK) to enhance the implementation of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) 2.0, Astro Awani reported.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said the funds will be used to expand training initiatives, increase industry exposure, and improve the quality of skills development to ensure Malaysia’s workforce is better aligned with current and future market demands.
He said the decision reflects the government’s continued effort to align TVET development with industry requirements through stronger collaboration among stakeholders.
“I reiterate that the government allows up to RM50 million from the PTPK High Impact Programme Fund to be channelled into TVET 2.0,” he said.
“However, the condition is that employers and industry players must work closely with the government, particularly through the National TVET Council, to ensure better coordination and successful implementation of this agenda.”
Anwar made the remarks at the launch of the TVET 2.0 celebration at Dataran Putrajaya earlier today. Also present was Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, who chairs the National TVET Council committee.
The Prime Minister stressed that strong cooperation between the government and industry is essential to ensure training programmes are relevant to sector needs and provide trainees with greater exposure opportunities.
Held under the theme “TVET Pilihan Utama Kerjaya”, the three-day event runs until Sunday from 9am to 10pm, featuring more than 107 agencies, institutions, and industry players across nine key sectors.
