SHAH ALAM, March 23 — A local man suspected of carrying out an armed robbery at a gold shop in a Kota Damansara shopping mall was arrested by police at 10.15pm last night.

SHAH ALAM, March 23 — A local man suspected of carrying out an armed robbery at a gold shop in a Kota Damansara shopping mall was arrested by police at 10.15pm last night.

Selangor police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan stated that officers from the Selangor Contingent Police Headquarters and the Petaling Jaya District Police (IPD) apprehended the suspect in Bukit Beruntung, Hulu Selangor.

Authorities successfully recovered the stolen jewellery, and the suspect has been taken to Petaling Jaya IPD for further investigation under Section 4 of the Firearms (Increased Penalties) Act 1971.

Police received a report on the robbery at 4.56pm yesterday, where the suspect, armed with a pistol, seized seven trays of jewellery worth RM2 million before fleeing in a getaway car waiting outside the mall.
