KUALA LUMPUR, March 26 — The draw for the 2027 Asian Cup in Saudi Arabia, originally scheduled for next month, has been postponed indefinitely, the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) announced today amid the ongoing Middle East conflict.

No new date has been set, with the AFC noting that regional club competitions have also been disrupted due to the US-Israel war on Iran.

The draw, initially planned for April 11 in Riyadh, was delayed “after careful consideration to ensure the uninterrupted attendance of all stakeholders,” the AFC said, adding that updates on the rescheduled draw will be provided in due course.

The 19th edition of the Asian Cup is slated for January 7 to February 5 next year, with Riyadh, Jeddah, and Al Khobar hosting matches. The 24 qualified teams will be split into six groups of four. — AFP
