SIBU, Nov 10 — School wardens must take responsibility for student safety, discipline, and moral development, Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing reminded yesterday.

Speaking at the PDP Children’s Day 2025 event in Sibu, Tiong urged wardens to carry out their duties diligently instead of shifting blame when problems arise. He also called on parents to be more involved in their children’s lives, rather than leaving them in hostels for long periods, stressing that children’s well-being should take priority over work or money.

The event was hosted by PDP Bukit Assek Division in collaboration with PDP Nanga Salim branch, Pedada Residents Social Club, and Persatuan Kebajikan Heng Shan. — The Borneo Post
