KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 15 — The Ministry of Transport (MOT), through the Road Transport Department (JPJ), will introduce a dedicated website tomorrow to streamline Budi Madani RON95 (Budi95) subsidy applications for Malaysians holding Singapore driving licences.

Transport Minister Anthony Loke said the initiative aims to support Malaysians working in Singapore who are required to use Singapore-issued licences, particularly those in essential sectors such as bus services, support operations and other service-related roles.

“The MOT acknowledges the feedback received from Malaysians employed in Singapore regarding the implementation of Budi95, especially those serving in key sectors,” he said at a press conference today.

The new portal, BUDI95lesenSG.jpj.gov.my, will go live tomorrow, allowing applicants to check their eligibility status after 14 days via the main site, budi95.gov.my.

According to Loke, all applications will be submitted to the Ministry of Finance (MOF) for review and approval. Eligible applicants must be Malaysian citizens, hold a valid Singapore driving licence, and possess an active work permit in Singapore.

“We hope this initiative will simplify the application process for Malaysians working across the border and ensure they receive fair consideration under the national fuel subsidy scheme,” he said.

However, Loke emphasised that the Budi95 subsidy remains strictly limited to vehicles registered in Malaysia. Malaysians who have left their employment in Singapore may reapply for a Malaysian driving licence once they cancel their Singapore licence in accordance with current procedures. — Bernama
