Bukit Aman assumes probe into ex-Army chief’s reports on leaked bank details

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 26 — The Bukit Aman Classified Crimes Investigation Unit will take over the probe into two police reports filed today by former Chief of Army Tan Sri Muhammad Hafizuddeain Jantan against an activist.

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 26 — The Bukit Aman Classified Crimes Investigation Unit will take over the probe into two police reports filed today by former Chief of Army Tan Sri Muhammad Hafizuddeain Jantan against an activist.

Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Fadil Marsus confirmed the development in a brief statement, saying, “We received reports on the matter, and the contents and investigation have been taken over by the Bukit Aman Classified Crimes Unit.”

Muhammad Hafizuddeain lodged the reports at Dang Wangi police station concerning leaked banking documents and allegedly defamatory statements. He is also reportedly considering civil action against the banking institution and individual involved. — Bernama
