KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 1 — The lorry driver remanded over last Saturday’s fatal accident at the Bukit Kajang Toll Plaza will be released today on police bail as investigations continue, said Kajang District Police Chief ACP Naazron Abdul Yusof.

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 1 — The lorry driver remanded over last Saturday’s fatal accident at the Bukit Kajang Toll Plaza will be released today on police bail as investigations continue, said Kajang District Police Chief ACP Naazron Abdul Yusof.

He said statements from seven witnesses have been recorded, with investigation papers referred to the Public Prosecutor. Authorities are also reviewing possible action against the lorry driver’s employer.

The lorry will undergo inspection at the Chemistry Department and PUSPAKOM this Thursday to identify the cause of the crash.

On the victims’ condition, one has been transferred to Putrajaya Hospital, another remains at Kajang Hospital, while one was discharged from a private hospital yesterday.

The accident, believed to have been caused by brake failure, involved a lorry, a car, and two SUVs, killing a one-year-old boy and injuring seven others.

The driver, 42, whose remand ends today, is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987. — Bernama
