Flights halted at Dhaka airport following fire incident, reports The Daily StarBEIJING, Oct 18 — Chen Ning Yang, a Nobel laureate and one of the world’s most distinguished physicists, passed away in Beijing today at the age of 103 following an illness, state news agency Xinhua reported.

Born in Hefei, Anhui province, in 1922, Yang was a Chinese-American physicist celebrated for his groundbreaking contributions to statistical mechanics and symmetry principles in particle physics.

He jointly received the 1957 Nobel Prize in Physics with Tsung-Dao Lee. — Reuters
