WASHINGTON, June 12 — The White House stated on Tuesday that President Donald Trump will not tolerate “mob rule,” as demonstrations against his immigration policies continue to spread across the U.S., despite a military-backed crackdown in Los Angeles.
KUALA TERENGGANU, June 6 — The Kuala Terengganu City Council (MBKT) carried out remedial work yesterday to re-insulate damaged electrical cables at Dataran Drawbridge following an incident in which a child was hospitalised after suffering burns from an electric shock while walking with his family in the area.
Kuala Terengganu Mayor Datuk Jusman Ibrahim said the council received a complaint at 11.18pm, prompting MBKT’s electrical department to dispatch a technical team to investigate the cause of the incident early this morning.
“Investigations revealed that the shock was caused by a damaged electrical cable that had come into contact with an MBKT street lamp post. Immediate action was taken to inspect all surrounding cables, and re-insulation was done using the ‘heat shrink insulation’ method,” he said in a statement today.
To prevent similar incidents, MBKT will also conduct a phased, comprehensive safety inspection of Dataran Drawbridge and its surrounding areas, which are popular with tourists.
Jusman added that the council treats all public complaints seriously, especially those involving safety risks, regardless of how they are received.
MBKT also expressed hope for the child’s full recovery and reminded the public that acts of vandalism are criminal offences that not only damage public property but can also pose serious threats to public safety.
The incident gained widespread attention after claims circulated on social media that a child was electrocuted while passing by the food truck area at Dataran Drawbridge. — Bernama
