WASHINGTON, June 12 — The White House stated on Tuesday that President Donald Trump will not tolerate “mob rule,” as demonstrations against his immigration policies continue to spread across the U.S., despite a military-backed crackdown in Los Angeles.
KOTA KINABALU, March 16 — A crocodile spotted at the popular Tanjung Aru beach has led to the suspension of most water activities, sparking public concern.
The Kota Kinabalu Civil Defence Department reported the sighting on their Facebook page, stating that beachgoers alerted them around 8:15 AM today.
“The beach rescue tower officials received reports of a crocodile sighted in the sea around 8:15 AM,” the department stated.
“Beach personnel promptly raised red flags to warn the public and advise against engaging in any sea or water activities following the sighting,” it added.
A beach patrol vehicle was immediately deployed to spread the alert along the 3km shoreline, urging the public to stay out of the water for the time being.
“Please share this information to help prevent any untoward incidents,” the department’s post read.
Tanjung Aru assemblyman Datuk Junz Wong called for careful handling of the situation, praising authorities for their swift action in raising the red flag and urging them to capture and relocate the crocodile to ensure public safety.
Crocodile sightings have also been reported in nearby Likas Bay and Gaya Island, while the east coast of Sabah has experienced frequent crocodile attacks.
According to reports, the Sabah Wildlife Department received 404 reports of crocodile attacks between 2019 and 2024, resulting in 42 fatalities and 23 injuries.
