LONDON, Jan 7 — Manchester United interim manager Darren Fletcher described leading the club as “beyond my wildest dreams,” saying he has not considered permanently replacing sacked boss Ruben Amorim.

Fletcher, who has held various roles at United since 2020 and made 342 appearances as a player, spoke ahead of Wednesday’s Premier League clash with Burnley. “It’s surreal and an incredible honour,” he said, adding that his focus is solely on the upcoming match.

The 41-year-old is expected to remain in charge until a permanent successor is appointed. He said he hopes his team reflects a proud Manchester United identity and that key players like Bruno Fernandes and Mason Mount can return to a squad depleted by injuries and international duties.
