WASHINGTON, Dec 2 — US President Donald Trump is in “excellent” cardiovascular health, his doctor said, following an unannounced MRI that had fuelled speculation over his condition.

The October 10 visit to Walter Reed had raised questions, but White House physician Sean Barbabella said the scan was purely preventive and confirmed that Trump’s major organs were healthy and functioning well.

Trump, who turns 80 in June, has faced criticism for limited health transparency and recently drew attention for bruising on his right hand, which the White House attributed to aspirin use as part of a standard heart regimen.

Earlier this year, officials also revealed he was diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency, a manageable condition causing leg swelling. — AFP
