KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 29 — Each state will have a special Kemas preschool for children with autism starting next year, said Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

He said the initiative aims to provide affordable, inclusive early education nationwide, with plans to expand the programme so that every district will have at least one Kemas Autism Preschool by 2027, subject to funding.

Ahmad Zahid added that the move has been aligned with the Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development and Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI) to ensure a proper curriculum and avoid overlapping functions.
