NEW DELHI, May 12 — An Etihad Airways flight bound for Abu Dhabi carrying 280 passengers was grounded after a fire broke out on its left wing before take-off at an airport in Chennai, southern India, according to local media reports cited by Xinhua.

All passengers were safely evacuated, with no injuries reported.

Officials said the pilots spotted the fire while the aircraft was preparing for departure, prompting an immediate halt to operations and the activation of airport fire and emergency response teams.
