LIVERPOOL, Jan 27 — Everton striker Thierno Barry scored a late equaliser to secure a 1-1 draw against Leeds in the Premier League yesterday.

Leeds had taken the lead in the 28th minute through James Justin after a move involving Dominic Calvert-Lewin, but Barry struck in the 76th minute, finishing Idrissa Gueye’s cross to calm Everton fans’ nerves.

The 23-year-old has now scored four goals in his last five league games since joining from Villarreal last year. Manager David Moyes praised Barry’s improvement and composure in front of goal.

Everton sit 10th in the league, while Leeds remain six points above the relegation zone. Leeds boss Daniel Farke admitted disappointment after seeing his team blow a lead despite dominating the first half.
