KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 27 — Pos Malaysia has issued a final notice to motorists who still need a physical road tax slip to complete their renewals at post offices nationwide before the February 1 deadline.

From that date, the Road Transport Department (JPJ) will cease issuing printed road tax slips for all privately owned vehicles registered to Malaysian citizens, completing the government’s shift to a fully digital system.

The digitalisation plan was first announced by Transport Minister Anthony Loke in February 2023.

Under the initiative, private vehicle owners can use the MyJPJ application to access and display their digital Motor Vehicle Licence (e-LKM), commonly known as road tax, as well as their digital Malaysian Driving Licence (e-LMM), removing the need for physical slips and cards.

The move aims to ease congestion at JPJ counters, reduce administrative costs, and improve convenience for the public.

From February 1 onwards, all road tax renewals will be conducted digitally, with motorists able to view and display their e-LKM via the MyJPJ app.
