NEW YORK, May 23 — The Trump administration yesterday revoked Harvard University’s authorization to enroll foreign students—who make up over a quarter of its student body—in a sharp escalation of the president’s conflict with the prestigious institution.
KUALA LUMPUR, April 29 — A fire broke out on Monday night at a dormitory block of Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Tinggi Setapak, which accommodates 91 male students.
According to Fire and Rescue Department operations commander Japari Tajuddin, all the students were in the school’s surau awaiting the Isyak prayer when the incident occurred.
The fire, which primarily affected the first floor of the dormitory, was brought under control by 9.40pm and caused about 80 per cent damage, he said in a statement.
No injuries were reported, while investigations into the cause of the fire and the extent of the damages are still ongoing.
A local resident, Muzelysham Mustafa, said he was alerted to the incident by his son after hearing the alarm. Upon checking, he found the dormitory empty and was relieved that no students were trapped.
Following the incident, parents rushed to the school to pick up their children after being informed. — Bernama
