JOHOR BAHRU, March 24 — A fire destroyed a firecracker and fireworks stall last Sunday night, though no injuries or deaths were reported.

Larkin Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) operations commander Senior Fire Officer I Nakish Nekmat stated that 11 personnel responded to an 8:32 pm emergency call at Majidee Corner 1C, Jalan Bunga Ros in Kampung Dato Sulaiman Menteri. The fire also spread to two nearby vehicles, resulting in 80% destruction of a Proton Gen-2 and 73% damage to a food truck.

According to the official statement, the pop-up tent used for the stall was 90% ruined before the blaze was brought under control at 8:42 pm. Mop-up operations are currently in progress following the incident, which gained attention after a 44-second video of the fire circulated on social media.

On March 22, 2026, a fireworks stall at Majidee Corner in Kampung Dato Sulaiman Menteri, Johor Bahru, caught fire, resulting in damage to two neighboring vehicles. Social media footage of the incident confirms that no injuries or fatalities occurred.
