DHAKA, Oct 18 — A fire erupted in the cargo section of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka today, prompting authorities to suspend all flights, The Daily Star reported.

According to the report, 36 firefighting units have been deployed to contain the blaze, said Talha Bin Zasim from the Fire Service and Civil Defence Media Cell.

“All our aircraft are confirmed safe. Further updates will be shared as the situation evolves,” an airport spokesperson was quoted as saying.

Reuters was unable to independently verify the report, and the airport has not yet responded to requests for comment. — Reuters
