MELAKA, Oct 29 — Authorities raided a frozen meat outlet in Ayer Keroh for displaying the word “halal” on its signboard without a valid Malaysian Halal Certification (SPHM).

Melaka KPDN director Mohd Hazimin Jamaludin said 28.85kg of frozen meat worth RM7,802 bearing an unauthorised halal logo was seized during a joint operation with Jaim today.

The business owner failed to produce a halal certificate and was found violating the Trade Descriptions (Definition of Halal) Order 2011. The outlet was also fined for using an unverified weighing scale.
