BENTONG, April 23 — A recent brawl at a casino in Genting Highlands was reportedly sparked by frustration over an unsuccessful hotel room booking, despite a payment of RM1,500, the New Straits Times (NST) reported.

Bentong district police chief Superintendent Zaiham Mohd Kahar said three foreign nationals, including a woman aged between 32 and 49, were arrested following the April 17 incident.

The individuals were detained by a Genting Highlands auxiliary police officer around 3.05am.

“They were believed to have been involved in the casino altercation. A 42-second video of the fight has since gone viral on social media,” Zaiham said in a statement yesterday, as quoted by NST.

Preliminary investigations found that the dispute stemmed from dissatisfaction after the group failed to secure a hotel room at the resort.

The suspects are being investigated for causing public disturbance, trespassing, and overstaying their work permits, according to the report.

Zaiham advised the public not to speculate while investigations are still underway.

The video of the altercation, which shows several individuals engaged in a physical fight inside the casino, has attracted widespread attention online, NST added.
