KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 14 — Malaysian rider Muhammad Hakim Danish Ramli saw his hopes of finishing as runner-up in the 2025 Red Bull Rookies Cup (RBRC) dashed after a crash at the second corner of the final Round 2 race at Misano Circuit, Italy, today.

The 18-year-old, who started from sixth on the grid, was pushing to close in on the front pack when his bike slid out, forcing him to retire with eight laps to go.

With the setback, Hakim Danish wrapped up his third season with 171 points, slipping to third overall after being overtaken by Indonesia’s Veda Pratama, who secured second on 181 points. Spain’s Brian Uriarte clinched the overall title with 236 points.

Despite the disappointment, Hakim Danish made history as the first Malaysian rider to finish in the overall top three of the RBRC. The Terengganu-born racer had placed 12th in his 2023 debut season before climbing to sixth last year.

Earlier in the day, Spain’s David Gonzalez snatched victory in the final race, narrowly edging Uriarte by just +0.052 seconds, with Argentina’s Marco Morelli taking third. — Bernama
