KUALA LUMPUR, April 23 — Prolonged heavy rainfall since 4.15am today has caused flash floods in several low-lying parts of Puchong, with water levels reaching waist height.

Social media livestreams showed numerous homes in Kampung Tengah inundated, with some children unable to attend school due to the flooding.

Despite the rain having stopped, floodwaters remain high and have yet to recede.

“It flooded just two weeks ago. Even by evening, the water still hadn’t gone down,” one user commented.

Rescue teams have deployed boats to evacuate residents, including children, as water levels continue to rise.
