BEIRUT, March 3 — Hezbollah said it targeted three Israeli military bases in retaliation for Israeli airstrikes on its positions in Lebanon, including the southern suburbs of Beirut.

Israel has carried out repeated air raids, issuing evacuation warnings and displacing around 29,000 people. The military also deployed troops in southern Lebanon as a “forward defence” measure, with Defence Minister Israel Katz authorizing the IDF to seize strategic positions to protect border communities.

Hezbollah said it struck the Ramat David and Meron bases in northern Israel and the Naffakh base (Camp Yitzhak) in the occupied Golan Heights using drones and rockets, calling the attacks a response to “criminal Israeli aggression” on Lebanese towns.

Airstrikes have hit several buildings in Beirut’s south, with smoke seen rising over the city. Hezbollah condemned Israeli strikes on its Al-Manar TV and Al-Nour radio offices, calling them attempts to “silence the voice of the resistance.” — AFP
