WASHINGTON, June 12 — The White House stated on Tuesday that President Donald Trump will not tolerate “mob rule,” as demonstrations against his immigration policies continue to spread across the U.S., despite a military-backed crackdown in Los Angeles.
KUALA LUMPUR, June 1 — An Indian national believed to be the kingpin of a major transnational drug syndicate was arrested while hiding in a Kuala Lumpur hotel on May 13, and later deported to India, police confirmed.
Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain said the 30-year-old suspect was detained at 1.35am in a hotel room during a joint operation by Bukit Aman’s Criminal Investigation Department (JSJ) and Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department (JSJN).
Initial checks revealed the man had entered Malaysia earlier this year using a tourist pass.
“Investigations found that he was not involved in any drug trafficking activities locally. However, JSJN is continuing intelligence work to determine whether he has any links to syndicates or secret societies in Malaysia,” Razarudin said.
The suspect, who was on India’s wanted list, was deported on May 27 aboard a 6.54pm flight.
According to a report by The Indian Express on May 28, the man was arrested by India’s Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) following his extradition from Malaysia. He is alleged to be the leader of an international syndicate involved in drug trafficking operations worth 11.28 billion rupees (approximately RM635 million), including cocaine and marijuana shipments smuggled from the United States via cargo. — Bernama
