SERI KEMBANGAN, Sept 28 — The Malaysian Immigration Department arrested 86 foreign nationals during simultaneous raids on seven reflexology centres in the Klang Valley suspected of offering illicit services.

Operations Division director Basri Othman said the raids, which began at 5pm in Kuala Lumpur, Seri Kembangan and Kajang, resulted in the detention of 76 women and 10 men aged between 21 and 32.

Those arrested comprised 13 Myanmar nationals, 21 Indonesians, eight Vietnamese and four Cambodians. Basri explained that the operation followed two weeks of intelligence gathering and public complaints against the premises.

“Our monitoring found these centres were offering immoral services to customers for fees of about RM200 to RM250,” he told reporters at one of the raided sites.

He added that most of the clientele were foreigners.

“All the detained foreigners either lacked valid documents, had overstayed, or breached Regulation 39(b) of the Immigration Regulations 1963 by violating their visa conditions. The case is being investigated under Section 6(1)(c) and Section 15(1)(c) of the Immigration Act 1959/63,” he said. — Bernama
