WASHINGTON, June 12 — The White House stated on Tuesday that President Donald Trump will not tolerate “mob rule,” as demonstrations against his immigration policies continue to spread across the U.S., despite a military-backed crackdown in Los Angeles.
KUALA LUMPUR, March 16 — Former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob is expected to return to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) headquarters tomorrow to provide further testimony, a source revealed.
According to The Star, the Bera MP will present additional evidence as part of the ongoing corruption and money laundering investigation.
“Tomorrow will mark his fourth appearance after submitting his asset declaration, and we will assess how the session unfolds,” the source said.
The source added that MACC officers will continue taking statements until they are satisfied with the explanations and evidence needed to conclude the probe.
Citing Sinar Harian, the source noted that the MACC has yet to determine when the statement recording will be completed, as several key documents still require further clarification. It remains uncertain whether the former prime minister will be detained following tomorrow’s session.
On March 3, the MACC confirmed Ismail Sabri as a suspect in a corruption and money laundering case after his team discovered approximately RM170 million in cash at a ‘safe house’ during a raid.
Additionally, the MACC reportedly froze 13 bank accounts containing more than RM2 million to assist in the investigation.
As part of the probe, statements from 36 witnesses have been recorded so far, the source added.
