Jakim Open to Collaborating with Influencers to Tackle Misinformation

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 25 — The Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (Jakim) is ready to collaborate with influencers and social media content creators to ensure greater caution when addressing sensitive issues online, said its Director-General Datuk Sirajuddin Suhaimee.

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 25 — The Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (Jakim) is ready to collaborate with influencers and social media content creators to ensure greater caution when addressing sensitive issues online, said its Director-General Datuk Sirajuddin Suhaimee.

As part of this initiative, Jakim launched the JUM Podcast (Jakim Untuk Ummah), covering relevant topics and inviting influencers to discuss concerns raised by the public.

"We encourage content creators to reach out to Jakim before commenting on sensitive matters to prevent public confusion," Sirajuddin stated after a Tea and Talk session with the media.

He emphasized that influencers should consult Jakim for guidance to ensure accurate and positive messaging.

Additionally, Jakim has planned 10 programmes throughout Ramadan, collaborating with government agencies and private sector partners at both state and federal levels to enhance appreciation of the holy month. — Bernama
