TOKYO, Dec 30 — Japanese football legend Kazuyoshi “King Kazu” Miura, 58, has signed with third-division Fukushima United on loan until June, marking his 41st professional season.

“My passion for football hasn’t faded,” Miura said, promising to give his all for the club. Last season, he played for fourth-tier Atletico Suzuka before returning to the J. League for the first time in five years.

Miura began his career with Santos in 1986 and has played in Italy, Croatia, Australia, and Portugal. He helped popularise football in Japan after the J. League launched in 1993 and scored 55 goals in 89 appearances for the national team. — AFP
