KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 18 — Police have arrested a man who confronted a group of NGO activists in Bandar Utara Selayang on Sunday.

Sentul police chief ACP Ahmad Sukarno Mohd Zahari said the 38-year-old suspect was picked up yesterday morning after a report was lodged at 6.44pm the same day.

He said the man has four prior criminal records, three of which are drug-related.

“Police will seek a remand order tomorrow to assist investigations under Sections 323, 506 and 509 of the Penal Code,” he said in a statement last night.

A video of the incident — showing the suspect hurling profanities and behaving aggressively towards the NGO members, who were believed to be explaining the ban on foreigners conducting business in the area — has since gone viral on social media. — Bernama
