MOSCOW, March 5 — Iran has not requested arms supplies from Russia, the Kremlin said today.

Russia has criticised the strikes by the United States and Israel, while calling for an immediate ceasefire involving a country with which it has strengthened ties in recent years.

Last year, Iran signed a 20-year strategic partnership agreement with Moscow. Russia is also constructing two additional nuclear units at Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant, Iran’s only nuclear power facility, and Tehran previously supplied Russia with Shahed drones used in the conflict against Ukraine.

When asked on Thursday whether Russia plans to provide material assistance to Iran, including weapons, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said no such request had been made.

“In this case, there were no requests from the Iranian side. Our consistent position is well known to everyone, and there have been no changes in this regard,” he told reporters. — Reuters
