SIBU, Feb 19 — Kuala Lumpur International Airport recorded over 8,000 tourist arrivals within two hours on the first day of Chinese New Year, said Tourism Minister Tiong King Sing.

SIBU, Feb 19 — Kuala Lumpur International Airport recorded over 8,000 tourist arrivals within two hours on the first day of Chinese New Year, said Tourism Minister Tiong King Sing.

About 6,500 passengers arrived at Terminal 1 and 1,500 at Terminal 2. In a separate statement, Tourism Malaysia said 32 flights carried 8,840 passengers between 7am and 10.30am on Feb 17.

The strong arrivals boosted hotel occupancy nationwide and support the Visit Malaysia 2026 campaign. Further tourism engagement with Sarawak is planned after Hari Raya. — Bernama
