KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 23 — Two foreign nationals have become the first individuals in Malaysia to be charged in court for littering under the newly enforced anti-littering law, according to a report by The Star.
PUTRAJAYA, March 4 — The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) confirmed that a former federal minister is among 12 people summoned for questioning over a RM1.11 billion government-backed semiconductor project.
MACC Chief Commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki said the witnesses include officials from the Economy Ministry, Malaysian Investment Development Authority (Mida), and the Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry (Miti). Key documents, including Cabinet Papers on the project with UK-based Arm Holdings, have also been obtained.
The investigation follows allegations of abuse of power, governance breaches, and fraud. MACC is also seeking the return of Chai Jin Shern, a former aide to PKR leader Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli, who is currently in the UK and linked to the project. Rafizi has described the probe as politically motivated.
