WASHINGTON, July 1 — Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is set to visit the White House next week for talks with President Donald Trump, as the U.S. intensifies efforts to secure a ceasefire in Gaza, a U.S. official confirmed on Monday.
KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 10 — Malaysian squash star S. Sivasangari kicked off her 2025 season in spectacular fashion, defeating home favorite Amanda Sobhy 11-7, 6-11, 7-11, 11-7, 11-4 to win the Cincinnati Gaynor Cup at Cleveland Country Club, Ohio.
Fresh off a stunning semi-final victory over top seed and defending champion Olivia Weaver, Sivasangari maintained her momentum in the 48-minute final showdown.
She credited her success to staying composed under pressure.
“I told myself the job wasn’t done yet. I knew Amanda was a tough opponent, so I focused on each point instead of the outcome, and I’m glad it worked out,” she shared in an audio clip from the Professional Squash Association.
This marks Sivasangari’s first title since winning the London Squash Classic last April. Reflecting on recent challenges, she acknowledged that tough losses had helped shape her game.
“I’ve had some difficult months, losing close matches. But I took those experiences as lessons, and today’s victory is a result of that growth,” she said.
With this win, Sivasangari solidifies her place among the sport’s rising stars. — Bernama
