LONDON, March 10 — Manchester City are set to take on Liverpool in a blockbuster FA Cup quarter-final, while quadruple-chasing Arsenal will travel to Southampton.

Yesterday’s draw for the last eight also paired Chelsea with League One giant-killers Port Vale, who stunned Sunderland 1-0 in the fifth round on Sunday. West Ham, who defeated Brentford 5-3 on penalties after a 2-2 draw on Monday, will host Leeds in the remaining quarter-final.

City’s showdown with rivals Liverpool is the highlight tie of the round.

Pep Guardiola’s side have already beaten Liverpool twice this season, winning 3-0 at home in November and 2-1 at Anfield in February. This will be their first FA Cup meeting since Liverpool’s 3-2 semi-final victory in 2022.

Liverpool, who beat Wolves 3-1 in the last 16, have lifted the FA Cup eight times, most recently four years ago. Seven-time winners Manchester City, who overcame Newcastle 3-1 in the fifth round, last won the trophy in 2023.

Premier League leaders Arsenal progressed with a 2-1 win at third-tier Mansfield and will face Championship play-off hopefuls Southampton, who recorded a surprise 1-0 victory at Fulham in the fifth round.
