LONDON, April 1 — Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim firmly dismissed speculation linking captain Bruno Fernandes with a move to Real Madrid, stating that the Portuguese midfielder is “not going anywhere.”

The 30-year-old has been a key figure for United since his arrival from Sporting Lisbon in 2020, netting 95 goals in 277 appearances. Although recent reports suggested a potential £90 million (€107.4 million) transfer to the Spanish giants, Amorim shut down the rumours.

“No, it’s not going to happen,” Amorim said. “I want Bruno here, especially because he stood out even during the toughest moments of our season. We’re aiming to win the Premier League again, and that means keeping our best players.”

Amorim praised Fernandes' consistency, saying: “He’s 29, I believe, but still incredibly fit—he plays around 55 games every season. Between goals and assists, he contributes at least 30, so he’s exactly the type of player we want to keep.”

“We’re in control of the situation, and I believe he’s genuinely happy here,” the manager added. — AFP
