GENEVA, June 13 — Switzerland has offered to host the potential signing of a peace agreement between the United States and Iran, the Swiss foreign ministry told AFP on Friday.
MELAKA, June 13 — A total of 1,318 women aged between 40 and 70 in Melaka have benefited from free mammogram screenings this year through the National Population and Family Development Board (LPPKN) Mammogram Subsidy Programme.
State Women, Family and Community Development Committee chairman Datuk Kalsom Noordin said the initiative remains open to eligible women, with a target of reaching 1,800 participants by the end of the year.
She said screenings are available at three participating private healthcare facilities in the state — Putra Specialist Hospital Melaka, Pantai Hospital Ayer Keroh and Mahkota Medical Centre.
“Women who meet the eligibility criteria and wish to undergo screening can register at the LPPKN Melaka Nur Sejahtera Clinic or through the clinic’s outreach programmes to secure an appointment at the participating hospitals.
“The response from women in Melaka has been highly encouraging compared with previous years, reflecting a growing awareness of the importance of early breast cancer detection,” she told reporters here last night.
She was speaking after the launch of Festival Malam Kita 2026 @ KafeTEEN Melaka, officiated by LPPKN director-general Datuk Abdul Shukur Abdullah and attended by Melaka LPPKN director Suszma Khairitszi Mamat.
Kalsom urged women within the target age group to take advantage of the free screening service, noting that it supports the government’s efforts to promote early detection through LPPKN’s Women’s Reproductive Cancer Awareness Campaign.
She added that the subsidy programme also helps reduce the financial burden associated with breast cancer screening.
“As there are still vacancies available under the programme’s quota, we encourage all eligible women to register and undergo mammogram screening without delay,” she said. — Bernama
