KUALA LUMPUR, April 20 — A thunderstorm alert has been issued for several districts in Selangor, Negeri Sembilan, and Melaka, effective until midday today.

According to the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia), the warning includes areas such as Kuala Langat, Kuala Pilah, and Alor Gajah, with forecasts of heavy rain, strong winds, and lightning.

“This alert is issued when there are indications of thunderstorms with rainfall intensity exceeding 20 mm/hour, either currently occurring nearby or expected to persist for more than an hour,” MetMalaysia explained.

These alerts are typically short-term and remain valid for up to six hours from the time they are issued.

Residents in the affected areas are urged to plan their activities accordingly and stay updated with official weather information.
