KUALA LUMPUR, May 11 — Malaysian Meteorological Department has issued a warning of thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds expected to hit 10 states until 9pm today.

KUALA LUMPUR, May 11 — Malaysian Meteorological Department has issued a warning of thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds expected to hit 10 states until 9pm today.

In a statement, MetMalaysia said the affected areas in Malaysia include Kuala Muda, Sik, Baling and Kulim in Kedah; Larut, Matang and Selama, Kuala Kangsar, Kinta and Kampar in Perak; Gua Musang in Kelantan; and Hulu Terengganu, Dungun and Kemaman in Terengganu.

In Pahang, the affected districts are Cameron Highlands, Lipis, Raub, Bentong, Kuantan and Pekan, while in Selangor, Hulu Selangor is expected to be impacted.

In Negeri Sembilan, Jelebu, Seremban, Kuala Pilah, Rembau and Tampin are on alert, while in Johor, Segamat, Kluang, Kulai, Kota Tinggi and Johor Bahru are expected to be affected.

In East Malaysia, similar weather conditions are forecast for parts of Sarawak, including Samarahan (Simunjan), Sri Aman, Betong, Sarikei, Sibu, Kapit, Miri and Limbang.

In Sabah, the affected areas include the Interior division, west coast areas such as Papar, Putatan, Penampang, Kota Kinabalu, Tuaran and Kota Belud, as well as Tawau, along with the Federal Territory of Labuan. — Bernama
