MOSCOW, Dec 26 — Ocean Infinity, a US-based research firm, has confirmed it is restarting the search for Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370, which disappeared in 2014, Sputnik/RIA Novosti reported.

Supported by the Malaysian government, the company said all official updates will come from Malaysia due to the sensitivity of the mission.

Marine tracking data shows the 86-metre Singapore-flagged vessel Armada 86 05 left Kwinana on Dec 23 and is heading to the southern Indian Ocean, where it will deploy autonomous underwater vehicles. The active search is set to begin on Dec 30.

Malaysia agreed in March to renew efforts with Ocean Infinity, although the search was briefly paused in April due to off-season conditions.
