PUTRAJAYA, Nov 1 — The Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry (KPDN) has found no evidence that consumers received less RON95 petrol following the introduction of the Budi Madani RON95 (Budi95) subsidy.
KPDN enforcement director-general Datuk Azman Adam said the ministry investigated social media claims of underfilled or lower-quality fuel after receiving six complaints, but no legal violations were found.
He added that checks on sales records and petrol pumps confirmed the subsidy had no impact on fuel quantity or quality. Regular inspections and random tests will continue.
Azman reminded that companies breaching the Trade Descriptions Act 2011 face fines up to RM500,000, while individuals risk RM100,000 fines or up to three years’ jail.
Public complaints can be made via WhatsApp (019-8488000), hotline (1-800-886-800), email (eaduan@kpdn.gov.my) or the Ez ADU KPDN app. — Bernama
