WASHINGTON, April 6 — US President Donald Trump issued a stark warning to Iran, threatening major strikes on civilian infrastructure if Tehran does not reopen the Strait of Hormuz amid rising global oil prices.
PUTRAJAYA, April 6 — The Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development (KPWKM) has halted grant payments to the Taman Wahyu Community-Based Rehabilitation Organisation (PPDK) in Kuala Lumpur following a probe into alleged mismanagement of funds and safety concerns involving trainees.
In a statement yesterday, the ministry said the investigation was conducted by the Social Welfare Department (JKM) Kuala Lumpur Inspectorate Team on December 4 last year, after receiving an initial complaint, in line with the Public Funds Loss and Write-Off Management Procedures WP10.3.
“As a precautionary step to safeguard the integrity of public fund management, grant disbursements for the 2026/2027 session have been suspended pending the final outcome of the investigation,” the statement said.
Preliminary findings also indicated possible negligence affecting trainee safety in an incident on March 11.
“The staff member involved has been placed on leave while further investigations are ongoing,” it added.
The matter came to light after a user on the Threads app alleged that RM500 in financial aid for her child, a trainee with disabilities, had not been received.
The woman also lodged a police report, claiming her child was injured after falling from a wheelchair, allegedly due to being left unattended by staff at the centre. — Bernama
