PENAMPANG, Sept 11 — A man is missing after a mudslide destroyed his house in Kampung Sarapung this evening.

PENAMPANG, Sept 11 — A man is missing after a mudslide destroyed his house in Kampung Sarapung this evening.

The incident occurred at about 6pm during heavy rain, when a mudslide from a nearby hill struck the house, trapping the man and a woman inside.

Villagers managed to pull the woman from the debris, but the man has yet to be found.

Penampang Fire and Rescue Station chief Zeno Tinggalan said they received a distress call at 6.10pm.

He noted that rescue efforts were hampered by the mudslide, adding that the victim’s identity has not been confirmed and the search-and-rescue operation is still in progress. — The Borneo Post
