PUTRAJAYA, Oct 13 — The National-Level Deepavali Madani Open House 2025 will be held at Lot F, KL Sentral, Kuala Lumpur, on Oct 18, with over 5,000 visitors expected to attend.
In a statement today, the Ministry of Digital announced that the event — organised with support from the Ministry of National Unity — will be attended by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and Digital Minister Gobind Singh Deo.
“The celebration is expected to draw more than 5,000 participants, including ministry personnel, industry partners, local communities, and Malaysians of diverse races and faiths,” the ministry said.
Carrying the theme “Cahaya Madani, Sinar Perpaduan” (Madani Light, Ray of Unity), the ministry explained that light — a central symbol of Deepavali — represents enlightenment, hope, and the spirit of unity among Malaysians within the Malaysia Madani framework.
“‘Cahaya Madani’ reflects the core principles of Malaysia Madani, founded on compassion, well-being, and humanity, while ‘Sinar Perpaduan’ symbolises the resulting harmony and mutual respect within a united society,” the statement added.
The annual celebration aims to promote the values of Malaysia Madani through inclusivity and shared cultural appreciation. “It serves as a platform to strengthen unity, respect, and harmony among Malaysia’s multiracial and multireligious communities, aligning with the government’s vision of unity in diversity,” the ministry said.
The statement also noted that Deepavali open houses at the national and institutional levels have become a hallmark of Malaysia’s multicultural harmony.
“This year, the Digital Ministry seeks to use the event as an avenue to deepen ties between ministry staff, digital industry players, and local communities, while celebrating together in a festive spirit.
“The programme will feature traditional Indian cuisine, cultural performances, and art displays — showcasing the richness of Indian heritage and embodying Madani values in everyday life,” the ministry added. — Bernama
