SEREMBAN, Dec 13 — Police believe the fatal shooting inside a car along Jalan Rasah–Mambau heading towards the Port Dickson toll plaza on Wednesday was motivated by revenge linked to secret society activities.
Negeri Sembilan police chief Datuk Alzafny Ahmad said three men have been detained to assist investigations, while a pistol and several rounds of ammunition were seized.
“We are still tracking down suspects and witnesses to help with the investigation, and so far, statements have been recorded from seven individuals.
“Police believe the motive was revenge. The deceased was the bodyguard of the injured victim, who is suspected to be a secret society leader,” he told Bernama here today.
In the 7.30am incident, the 43-year-old victim died while receiving treatment at Tuanku Ja’afar Hospital. Another man, aged 47, was injured after being shot by two suspects riding a motorcycle.
In a separate matter, Alzafny said police have not received any reports or information regarding an incident involving a man who was injured while searching for petai in a forested area of Kampung Maasop, Senaling, yesterday.
“Police are currently tracing those involved, and we do not rule out the possibility of illegal hunting activities in forests across the state,” he said.
Yesterday, Kuala Pilah police chief Supt Muhamad Mustafah Hussin said the 47-year-old victim was alone at the location when he was struck by buckshot in the right rib and back. The self-employed man was reported to be in stable condition. — Bernama
