KOTA TINGGI, April 20 — A 71-year-old man has been remanded for seven days until April 26 in connection with a shooting incident in Taman Kota Jaya that left three people dead yesterday.
SHAH ALAM, March 5 — Selangor police have confirmed that one of the individuals believed to be involved in a shooting incident in Taman Seri Kapar, Klang earlier today has died.
Selangor police chief Shazeli Kahar said the victim, who was riding as a passenger on a motorcycle, was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel, while the rider suffered injuries.
Initial investigations found that the two men had earlier opened fire at an employee of the suspect — the driver of a four-wheel-drive vehicle — in Kampung Perepat, Kapar.
“The suspect then chased the motorcycle to Jalan Keretapi Lama.
“When one of the victims pointed an object resembling a gun, the suspect rammed into the motorcycle, causing both men to fall before they were dragged into Taman Seri Kapar,” he said in a statement today.
Shazeli added that checks revealed the suspect, a 49-year-old local man, has prior records involving drugs and criminal offences under Sections 302 and 307 of the Penal Code.
“The deceased had 23 previous records linked to various serious crimes including murder, attempted murder and gang robbery. The injured victim has 10 criminal records and is also wanted under Section 130V of the Penal Code,” he said.
He added that the driver of the four-wheel-drive vehicle has been detained and the case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code.
Earlier, Shazeli said during a press conference that two men were injured after being hit by a four-wheel-drive vehicle following a shooting incident involving a lorry driver in Taman Seri Kapar, Klang this morning.
A 13-second video showing a man lying on the road, believed to be connected to the incident, has since gone viral on social media. — Bernama
